The tables in this section relate to the supply, performance and spend on housing related support services in England, since Q3 2009/10. Prior to Q3 this data was published on the spkweb which can be accessed here: http://webarchive.nationalarchives.gov.uk/20100210162740/http://www.spkweb.org.uk/Subjects/Statistics/ (external link)
The information presented here is currently collected on a quarterly basis, from 152 top-tier Administering Authorities, via the Supporting People Local System (SPLS) data uploads. The quarterly supply analysis provides a breakdown of:
- the number of individual housing related support services, that each authority administers; and
- the capacity of those services, measured in households units
Each of the supply analyses represents a snapshot of the number and capacity of services available at a particular point in time and does not reflect the number of households who have actually accessed those services.
In addition to the supply data, quarterly tables are provided highlighting performance in relation to National Indicators (NI) 141 and 142. Each of the quarterly performance analyses relates to an individual quarter; they do not provide a cumulative picture.
- NI 141 presents the percentage of vulnerable people achieving independent living (applicable to short term services); and
- NI 142 presents the percentage of vulnerable people supported to maintain independent living (applicable to long term and floating support services)
Year end retrospective spend data on Supporting People services is published following financial year end.
