13 May 2026: Council Tax stock of properties
Following the implementation of the Valuation Operating System for Council Tax during 2025, this publication is being updated to utilise the new data feed. Stock counts broken down by band, Local Authority and Parliamentary Constituency were published in September 2025. Further tables including stock counts broken down by property type, number of bedrooms and build period, along with geographical breakdowns at MSOA/LSOA, will be released by the end of May 2026.
We aim to release the remainder of the 2025 publication, including insertions and deletions, during summer 2026.
13 May 2026: Council Tax: challenges and changes in England and Wale
Following the implementation of the Valuation Operating System for council tax during 2025, this publication is being updated to utilise the new data feed. As a result, we plan to release a shorter publication including volumes of received, resolved and outstanding challenges during summer 2026. Tables including outcomes of challenges will be available later, once the data provision are assured for official statistics production.
