Details

Statistics on road freight transported by Great Britain and UK registered Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs) in the United Kingdom and internationally from July 2016 to June 2017.

Domestic freight activity by Great Britain registered HGVs operating in the United Kingdom increased in the year ending June 2017.

There were increases compared to the year ending June 2016 of:

• 4% in the amount of goods lifted, to 1.47 billion tonnes
• 6% in the amount of goods moved, to 151 billion tonne kilometres

International road freight by United Kingdom registered HGVs transporting freight internationally increased in the year ending June 2017.

There were increases compared to the year ending June 2016 of:

• 5% in the amount of goods lifted, to 8.1 million tonnes
• 6% in the amount of goods moved, to 5.4 billon tonne kilometres
