Reported road casualties in Great Britain, provisional estimates: year ending June 2022

Statistics on casualties in reported personal injury road collisions on public roads in Great Britain for the year ending June 2022.

Details

Reported road casualties for the year ending June 2022 show a return towards pre-pandemic trends. As both 2020 and 2021 included periods of lockdown, this publication compares estimates for the year ending June 2022 with those for the year ending June 2019, which is the most recent equivalent pre-pandemic year.

Figures for the year ending June 2022 show there were an estimated:

  • 1,760 fatalities in reported road collisions, a 4% decrease compared with the year ending June 2019 (pre-pandemic levels)
  • 29,804 reported killed or seriously injured (KSI) casualties, a decrease of 6% compared with the year ending June 2019
  • 137,013 reported casualties of all severities, a decrease of 12% compared with the year ending June 2019
