This background quality report relates to the official statistics publication Annual Savings Statistics. Its purpose is to provide users with information about the quality of the outputs as set out by the Code of Practice for Statistics.

An outdated note regarding Child Trust Fund statistics has been removed, as it no longer applies to the latest version of the Annual savings statistics publication. The time coverage information has been updated for the Lifetime Individual Savings Account figures to reflect the date range that is available in the latest statistics.

A new background quality report has been introduced that covers the whole of the annual savings statistics publication. It supersedes and replaces the separate quality reports for ISA tables 9.4 and 9.6, and tables 9.7 to 9.12.
