Local authorities (LAs) are required under Section 251 of the Apprenticeships, Skills, Children and Learning Act 2009 to prepare and submit an education and children’s social care budget statement (containing details of the LAs funding plans for the financial year) before the start of each financial year. These statistics provide a detailed picture of local authority planned expenditure for the financial year 2013 to 2014.
