Details

This statistical release provides national participation in education and apprenticeships from Department for Education administrative data. It also includes estimates of wider training and employment from the Labour Force Survey (LFS) to give a holistic picture of activity for the 16 to 21 population.

It contains information on participation in education and apprenticeships with breakdowns by:

Different post-16 learning options, including:

  • school
  • further education colleges or sixth form colleges
  • apprenticeships
  • higher education
  • mode of study
  • highest qualification being studied

Characteristics including:

  • academic age
  • sex
  • special educational needs (SEN)
  • disadvantaged or free school meals eligibility
  • indices of deprivation (IDACI)
  • ethnicity
  • prior attainment

Geographical information including:

  • England
  • local authority
