This publication provides figures on MOD employment estimates supported by MOD expenditure, including direct and indirect industry jobs, broken down by region and industry group.
Details of expenditure estimates are published in the MOD Regional Expenditure with UK industry bulletin.
Revisions have been made across multiple years in the time series due to changes in underlying data on MOD expenditure, UK employment, and Input-Output Analytical Tables (IOATs) from which job estimates are calculated.
The combined effects have revised total UK direct jobs by up to 2% fewer in 2021/22 to 2023/24, and indirect jobs by up to 17% fewer in 2022/23 and 2023/24.
Therefore, the time series presented in this release should be used over any previous editions where figures will differ. The cause of these changes to the underlying data are discussed further within the Accuracy section of the accompanying Background Quality Report.
