Job estimates

Regional and sub-regional job estimates

Details

This section provides sub-national estimates of employee jobs by two factors: industry sector and ownership (Public/ Private). Estimates are of employee jobs, rather than workforce jobs. Self-employed, HM Forces and Government Assisted trainees are therefore excluded. It is also a count of jobs rather than people i.e. one person would be counted once in an employment figure even if they had numerous jobs, where as in a jobs measure each job they had would be counted separately.

Proportion of employee jobs in selected industrial sectors

This data provides estimates of the proportion of employee jobs in selected industrial sectors by NUTS (1 or 2) areas for 2009 from the ONS Business Register Employment Survey.

The sectors presented are: Aerospace & Defence; Automotive; Chemicals; Construction; Information & Communication; Life Sciences; Metals and Retail & Wholesale.

Full information on the data and caveats are available alongside the data tables and should be understood before using these estimates.
