Details

Quarterly and annual data for health visitor service delivery metrics. Information is presented at local council of residence, region and England level.

The metrics cover early years health and development reviews for pregnant women, children and their families at the following stages:

  • antenatal health and development review
  • new birth health and development review
  • 6-to-8 week health and development review
  • 12-month health and development review
  • 2-to-2-and-a-half-year health and development review

The data was collected through an interim reporting system, Children’s public health 0 to 5 years: national reporting, which was set up to collect health visiting activity data at a local council resident level. Data is submitted by local councils on a voluntary basis.

The Community Services Data Set (CSDS) will be used as the basis for these metrics in the longer term, once the data quality has reached a suitable quality.

Local council commissioners and health professionals can use these resources to track how many pregnant women, children and families in their local area have received health-promoting reviews at particular points during pregnancy and childhood.
