These statistics examine the total time claimants spent on one or more of the main DWP working-age benefits from April 2010 to March 2014.

The main working-age benefits are:

• Jobseeker’s Allowance
• Employment and Support Allowance
• Income Support

These statistics update social justice outcomes framework indicator 4 about entrenched worklessness. This measures the proportion of the working-age population who are claiming working-age benefits and have been for at least 3 out of the previous 4 years.

The statistics are broken down by local authority.
