Community Mental Health Survey 2024: National Qualitative Report
The Urgent and Emergency Care survey collected information on the experiences of people who received care from urgent and emergency care services. NHS England undertook thematic analysis of the data from this survey, to identify key themes and variations in patient experiences, highlighting good practices, and uncovering areas for improvement. The qualitative report presents findings at national level.

The Urgent and Emergency Care survey collected information on the experiences of people who received care from urgent and emergency care services. The survey was sent to people aged 16 or over who had attended a Type 1 or Type 3 urgent and emergency care service provided by an acute trust between 1 and 29 February 2024. Fieldwork took place between April and July 2024. NHS England undertook thematic analysis of the qualitative data from this survey, to identify key themes and variations in patient experiences, highlighting good practices, and uncovering areas for improvement. A representative sample was drawn from respondents who provided written feedback to the open-ended questions. The qualitative report presents findings at national level.
