This publication presents findings from a survey of parents with children aged 0 to 14. It covers parents’ use of childcare and early years provision, and their views and experiences, including:
- childcare used by different types of children and families
- awareness and use of the existing and new funded childcare entitlements, and their perceived impact on families and children
- parents’ reasons for using or not using childcare, and for choosing particular providers
- parents’ views of the providers they use and childcare provision in their local area
- the influence of childcare arrangements on mothers’ decisions about whether to work and their working patterns
- the home learning environment
- awareness of, access to and services used at Family Hubs
