Details

The QOF was introduced as part of the new General Medical Services (GMS) contract on 1 April 2004. The objective of the QOF is to improve the quality of care patients are given by rewarding practices for the quality of care they provide to their patients.

Achievement information is based on practice level achievement against primary care indicators. Prevalence figures are based on numbers of patients on GP clinical registers for specific conditions. Exceptions data presents information on numbers of patients with specific clinical conditions who are not included in QOF indicator data used to measure achievement.
