Details

Statistics on the number of sea passengers which include all vehicle drivers, their passengers and foot passengers on ferries. This updates the provisional data published in February 2017.

In 2016, we see that:

  • international sea passenger numbers decreased by 4% from 23.0 to 22.0 million
  • cruise passengers increased by 5% to 2.0 million
  • overall domestic sea passenger numbers increased to 42.2 million
  • domestic sea crossing passenger numbers decreased by 1% to 3.5 million

Provisional figures for 2017 will be published in February 2018.
