Details

This report presents national-level findings for England from the international civic and citizenship education study (ICCS). ICCS is a large-scale study of pupil knowledge, dispositions and attitudes, which is administered across 38 countries worldwide under the auspices of the international association for the evaluation of educational achievement (IEA).

ICCS builds on previous IEA studies of civic education, most notably the civic education study (CIVED), which was administered in 1999, and which sought to explore issues around pupils’ school-based citizenship learning and opportunities for civic participation outside school.
