Notice is hereby given, in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulations 2006 that: Yorkshire Water Services Ltd, in collaboration with the Environment Agency are proposing to trial the use of Widdop, Gorple Upper and Lower and Walshaw Dean Upper, Middle and Lower reservoirs for the storage of flood water between the 21st December 2017 and the 31st March 2018.

Yorkshire Water will endeavour to reduce the water level of the reservoirs by increasing the existing compensation flows, subject to catchment runoff and operational constraints. The reduction of the water level of the reservoirs is aimed at seeking to achieve some capacity in the reservoirs for the storage of flood water.

Downstream abstractors have been contacted separately.
