York Potash Ltd has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is for a licence to abstract water from the Redcar Mudstone aquifer at Lockwood Beck from one borehole at National Grid Reference (NGR) NZ 67439 14136, and one abstraction reach from NGR NZ 67374 14143 to NGR NZ 67531 14029. The abstracted water will be transferred into the Lockwood Beck stream at NGR NZ 67336 14316 without intervening use. Abstraction will take place each day for the purpose of dewatering.
