Details of the application
The Environment Agency has received an application to vary an environmental permit under the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2016 involving substantial change to a permit from W Clifford Watts Limited.
The proposed variation changes a standard rules permit into a bespoke permit.

The site is an existing Standard Rules 2010 No.12 treatment of waste to produce soil, soil substitutes and aggregates which has superseded by the Standard Rules 2022 No.1 treatment of waste to produce soil, soil substitutes and aggregates. The variation is to alter the permit into a bespoke permit based on SR 2022 no.1. The site will also increase its boundary to incorporate storage areas and also include a physical and chemical treatment operation in the form of washing. This washing plant will wash mainly aggregates to produce a higher quality output. The annual throughput will not increase beyond the 250,000 tonnes per annum
