Wyke Farms Ltd has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is to vary licence number 16/52/009/G/134/R01; which authorises a groundwater abstraction from the Dyrham Formation at Bruton, Somerset. The current abstraction is from four boreholes at National Grid References: ST 66660 64021, ST 66804 34021, ST 66753 34015 and ST 66938 34072.

The variation applied for is to increase abstraction quantities to:

  • 900 cubic metres a day
  • 204,200 cubic metres a year
