Wroot Farming Company has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 8 of The Water Abstraction (Transitional Provisions) Regulations 2017.
The Environment Agency has received the following abstraction licence application within the Idle and Torne catchment.
The application is for a full licence to abstract water as follows:
- at an instantaneous rate of 22 litres per second
- 80 cubic metres an hour
- 540 cubic metres a day
- 19,200 cubic metres a year
- between 1 April and 31 October inclusive in each year
- at National Grid References (NGRs) SE 69138 03158 to SE 69704 03041
- from abstraction location River Torne.
The water will be used for trickle irrigation.
