The Environment Agency has received a new bespoke application for an environmental permit under the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2010 from Severn Trent Water Limited.

  • Volume: Cannot be quantified as a discharge to the receiving water shall only take place, and only for as long as, the sewage pumping station is inoperative as a result of one or more of the following:

• electrical power failure;

• mechanical breakdown of duty and standby pumps;

• rising main failure;

• blockage of downstream sewer

and when a storage capacity of 30 cubic metres within the wet well and inlet chamber of the sewage pumping station has been fully utilised (which represents 6 hours storage provision under dry weather flow conditions). The station will also be fitted with mitigation measures including:

• telemetry notification of failure/breakdown

• mobile generator point

• tanker access
