Applies to England

The Environment Agency has received an application to vary an environmental permit under the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2010 from Severn Trent Water Limited.

  • Application number: S/17/25770/R/V001
  • Regulated facility type: Wastewater Treatment Works
  • Regulated facility location: Lower Moor Wastewater Treatment Works at Bridge Lane, Lower Moor, WR10 2PL.
  • NGR discharge point: SO 97580 46740
  • Receiving environment: Unnamed tributary of the River Avon
  • Effluent type: Secondary Treated Sewage Effluent
  • Volume: 285 cubic metres per day

The Operator has applied for a variation of the existing permit to include an aluminium limit as a result of chemical dosing using aluminium salts to aid solids settlement at the wastewater treatment works. The use of the aluminium based chemical dosing will be time limited to 31 March 2017. This should provide the Operator sufficient time to conduct AMP6 investigations and address the suspended solids problem without the need for further chemical dosing. No other changes to the permit have been requested.
