William George Topham, George Topham, and Jean Papworth trading as Woodhall Farm Partnership has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is to vary licence serial number AN/034/0002/010, which currently authorises the abstraction of water from an unnamed watercourse adjoining the River Burn at South Creake, Norfolk at National Grid Reference TF 86793 35376 to a (yet to be constructed) storage reservoir ‘C’ only from 1 November to 30 April, for subsequent spray irrigation.

The variation applied for is to allow interim and on going reservoir storage to two additional and existing storage reservoirs ‘A’ and ‘B’ located at National Grid References TF 86548 33825 and TF 86803 33918, respectively, for subsequent spray irrigation. These two reservoirs are currently filled by groundwater abstraction licence number 7/34/02/*G/0024 held by the same Licence Holder, which authorises abstraction from 1 April to 30 September, for subsequent spray irrigation.

Further details are; the licence to be varied authorises abstraction to storage reservoir ‘C’ only, which will be located at National Grid Reference TF 84648 35798, with a maximum capacity of 200,000 cubic metres of water when constructed. The additional reservoirs ‘A’ and ‘B’ that are proposed to be included on the licence for interim and on going flexibility of supply for spray irrigation have a capacity of 12,800 cubic metres and 120,000 cubic metres of water, respectively. No additional quantity of water than currently authorised to be abstracted under either licence is proposed under this variation.
