Details of the application

Wilkin and Sons Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 8 of The Water Abstraction (Transitional Provisions) Regulations 2017.

The Environment Agency has received the following abstraction licence application within the North Essex catchment.

The application is for a full licence to abstract water as follows:

  • at an instantaneous rate of 12 litres per second
  • 43 cubic metres an hour
  • 256 cubic metres a day
  • 69,850 cubic metres a year
  • between 1 February to 30 November inclusive in each year
  • at National Grid Reference TL 89650 08122
  • from abstraction location Bounds Farm, Essex

The water will be used for trickle irrigation - storage.
