West Yorkshire's National Nature Reserves

Bradford Pennine Gateway
Bradford Pennine Gateway was declared by Natural England on 25 March 2025 and is part of the King’s Series of National Nature Reserves.
The reserve is a collection of 8 sites to the north and west of Bradford:
- Baildon Moor
- Bingley Bog North
- Harden Moor
- Ilkley Moor
- Penistone Country Park
- Shipley Glen
- St Ives
- Trench Meadows
Management: City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council
Area: 1271.71 hectares
The sites cover a variety of habitats including moorland, woodland, wetlands and meadows. Many threatened and rare species have been recorded across the sites. There are many important cultural and historic features including cup and rings stones, neolithic stones and the iconic Cow and Calf rocks.
