Published 28 April 2016
Applies to England
West Berkshire Council has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application (in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006).
The application is for a licence to obstruct or impede the flow of the Winterbourne Stream at Winterbourne Farm, West Berkshire, National Grid Reference SU 45756 72427.
Water will be obstructed or impeded to create a low flow channel through the discharge culvert in order to prevent downstream flooding during high flows. Water instead will overflow into a natural flood plain.
