Wensum Valley Hotel Golf & Country Club Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is for a full licence to abstract water from the River Wensum at Taverham, Norfolk at National Grid Reference TG 14197 15335.
The application is to abstract water as follows:
- 36 cubic metres an hour
- 864 cubic metres a day
- 25,000 cubic metres a year
Between November and March inclusive in each year.
The water will be used for filling a storage reservoir for subsequent spray irrigation.
Further details are: any abstraction will be subject to a Hands Off Flow condition to protect downstream interests.
