Wates Construction Limited : application made to abstract water

Wates Construction Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is for a licence to abstract water from underground strata consisting of the Dyrham Formation at HMP Gartree, near Market Harborough, Leicestershire, within a boundary formed by lines running between the following National Grid References: SP 70413 89057, SP 70801 89000, SP 70840 88743, SP 70502 88478 and SP 69998 88941. Abstracted water is then transferred back to underground strata consisting of the Dyrham Formation at another location within the same boundary as above, without intervening use.
The application is to abstract water as follows:
- 54 cubic metres an hour
- 1,296 cubic metres a day
- 473,040 cubic metres a year
- Instantaneous rate not exceeding 15 litres per second.
