Details of the application
Waste Recycling Group (Central) Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is to vary licence serial number TH/039/0018/014 to abstract water from 2 abstraction areas in the sands and gravels groundwater at Sutton Courtenay Landfill site within National Grid References (NGRs): SU 51300 94100, SU 51700 94100, SU 51700 93700 and SU 51300 93700. Also within NGRs SU 51300 92800, SU 51900 92800, SU 51900 92200 and SU 51300 92200.
This is for the purpose of transferring it without intervening use to the unnamed streams at NGRs SU 51194 92481, SU 52385 92602 and SU 51297 93870.
The variation applied for is: to increase the abstraction quantities in Area A from 23 cubic meters per hour, 558 cubic metres per day, 29,066 cubic metres per year at an instantaneous rate not exceeding 6.46 litres per second, to 288 cubic metres per hour, 6,192 cubic metres per day, 2,529,792 cubic metres per year at a rate not exceeding 80 litres per second.
To also increase the quantities in Area B from 23 cubic meters per hour, 558 cubic metres per day, 29,066 cubic metres per year at an instantaneous rate not exceeding 6.46 litres per second, to 225 cubic metres per hour, 5,400 cubic metres per day, 1,976,400 cubic metres per year at an instantaneous rate not exceeding 62.5 litres per second.
