Details

The pilots are part of the government’s commitment to legislate on voter ID requirements and improve the elections process so that our elections are the most secure in the world.

To enable the pilots to go ahead, Orders must be drafted. Some Orders published here were signed by the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster and Minister for the Cabinet Office; the Minister for the Constitution signed others. The Orders set out how the conduct rules for the running of local elections are to be changed to accommodate the voter ID pilots.
