This update explains the UK government’s work to advance the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights (VPs) during 2019. The UK produces an annual update report, and a full report every 3 years as part of its membership of the Voluntary Principles Initiative.

The UK is fully committed to developing and implementing of the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights, raising awareness and highlighting the work of the Voluntary Principles initiative in priority countries. The Voluntary Principles are an important tool for implementing the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.
