Details

The local authority insight survey gathers feedback from local authority benefit managers on topics of interest to the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). Wave 33 of the survey examined:

  • local authority preparations for Universal Credit managed migration – under this process, from 2019, HB cases managed by local authorities will move onto Universal Credit, which is managed by DWP
  • the effects of reducing the HB backdating period from 6 months to one month – this change was introduced in April 2016 to bring working age HB processes in line with Universal Credit processes
