Details of the application

United Utilities Water Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is to vary licence serial number 2671311005 and proposes to:

  • raise the height of a weir at Slaidburn, at National Grid Reference SD 72 54, from 180.57 metres to 180.87 metres Above Ordnance Datum (AOD)

  • remove the requirement for a public display of a compensation flow meter

  • maintain the current maximum daily release rate for the waterbank, with potential changes to the wording in the licence.
