This report presents the findings of exploratory research commissioned by HMRC to provide an understanding of social media content creators and how they can be supported to get their tax right.

The research involved 34 in-depth interviews with individuals who created original content on social media platforms for an audience beyond their personal network. They had also earned money or non-monetary benefits through doing so in the 12 months prior to fieldwork.
