Explanatory note:

 Our practice, when releasing data which relates to fewer than 5 individual cases, is not to provide an exact figure in order to limit the possibility of individuals being identified. For this reason, a breakdown by age is not provided in response to question 3, as the wide range of ages of the individuals included in the data would have resulted in low figures which would have all required rounding up.

 Published figures are available up to 31 March 2014. Figures for April to June 2014 and revised data for 2013 will be available from 28 August 2014. As the Home Office intends to publish this information it is exempt from providing it until this date under section 22 (1) and section 36(2)(c) (regarding subsets), of the Freedom of Information Act 2000. Release of management information, including subsets, would undermine Home Office established pre-publication procedures, which includes internal consultation about the final statistics being established on the Home Office website.

 The data provided in this response has been extracted from local management information databases and has not been quality assured to the level of published National Statistics. As such, it should be treated as provisional and therefore subject to change.
