Delivery geographies

England

In England, the fund will primarily operate over the strategic geographies of the Mayoral Combined Authorities and the Greater London Authority, and lower tier or unitary authorities elsewhere. In the section below, text in bold denotes a lead authority for UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) purposes.

Note - the Multiply component of the Fund will be managed by Mayoral Combined Authorities and the Greater London Authority, and upper tier or unitary authorities elsewhere. Further information is available in the Multiply prospectus.

Below we provide the delivery geography for core UKSPF activities for the years 2022-23 to 2024-25.

Individual plans for each of Cumbria’s district council areas are still needed, subject to close collaboration between districts leading investment plans and consent from the shadow unitary councils for Cumberland (covering Allerdale, Carlisle and Copeland), and Westmorland and Furness (covering Barrow-in-Furness, Eden and South Lakeland). Scotland

The UK government is keen to promote regional working where it makes sense for local leaders and can deliver good outcomes for local people and businesses.

In Scotland, we support delivery through Regional Economic Partnerships, where this is the preference of local areas. These regional geographies build on the successful City and Regional Growth Deal partnerships.

We intend to work with the Scottish Government and the Convention of Scottish Local Authorities to facilitate collaborative work across these Regional Economic Partnership geographies, recognising that the final composition of some partnerships is still to be determined. Under such arrangements, the lead local authority for each partnership will submit a single investment plan.

Wales

The UK government is keen to promote regional working where it makes sense for local leaders and can deliver good outcomes for local people and businesses.

In Wales, we support delivery across the four regional strategic geographies set out below, which are coterminous with City and Growth Deal areas. We want to work with the Welsh Government and the Welsh Local Government Association to support work across the four existing geographies and develop comprehensive accountable arrangements to administer the Fund in time for submission of each place’s investment plan.
