Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs James Cleverly and Republic of Malta Minister for Foreign and European Affairs and Trade Dr Ian Borg signed this framework on 10 February 2023 in Valletta.

The bilateral cooperation framework will boost cooperation between the UK and Malta across 5 core pillars, including foreign policy, security and defence, and trade and investment.
