This guidance supports public health practitioners to:

  • identify the sources of typhoid or paratyphoid infection
  • reduce the risks of secondary transmission

Use this guidance in conjunction with the accompanying template letter and fact sheet, and the enteric fever enhanced surveillance questionnaire.
