Tunnel Tech North Limited: application made to abstract water

Tunnel Tech North Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is to vary licence serial number 03/28/78/0027 which authorises the abstraction of water from the Sherwood Sandstone at National Grid Reference SK 67297 94069.
The variation applied for is to increase the licensed quantities from 36,369 cubic metres of water to 136,369 cubic metres of water per year and from 95 cubic metres to 600 cubic metres of water per day. The applicant has also requested a quantity of 30 cubic metres of water per hour (there is no hourly limit on the existing licence). The proposal is part of a Water Rights Trade with an existing Licence Holder.
The water will be used for the purpose of agriculture other than spray irrigation.
