This public notice is published on 21 September 2026 by the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade.
The Trade Remedies Authority (TRA) will terminate the anti-subsidy investigation into creamy/white limestone originating from Portugal on 22 September 2026. As a consequence of the termination of that investigation, the requirement for HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) to register imports of the goods ceases to have effect from that date.
Termination of registration of the goods
Trade remedies notice 2026/08 required HMRC to register the goods while they were the subject of an anti-subsidy investigation. The TRA has now terminated that investigation.
From 22 September 2026, HMRC is no longer required to register imports of the goods under Trade remedies notice 2026/08.
No anti-subsidy amount will be applied as a result of the TRA’s terminated investigation.
Goods description
The goods concerned are those subject to proceedings initiated on 14 January 2026 as specified in Notice of Initiation AS0089 and are defined as being:
Creamy/white limestone originating in Portugal in the form of slab and finished stone.
Slab refers to natural stone that has been simply cut or sawn.
Finished stone refers to natural stone that has been processed and worked in a factory, making it ready for installation. For these purposes, ‘processed and worked’ includes but is not limited to cutting, shaping and surface finishing to meet the specifications required for its intended use.

These goods were previously subject to registration under additional code 8C10. The registration requirement for the goods has ceased to have effect.

Excluded goods
Limestone originating from Portugal that is neither creamy, nor white, nor creamy white.
This notice does not alter the description of excluded goods set out in Trade remedies notice 2026/08. The registration requirement imposed by that notice has ceased to have effect.
Effective date
This public notice takes effect from 22 September 2026.
Effect of this notice
The requirement to register the goods ceases to have effect from 22 September 2026 as a consequence of the TRA’s termination of the investigation.
