The report presents interim process and impact findings from the first seven case studies undertaken as part of the evaluation of the Towns Fund, which includes both Town Deals and the Future High Streets Fund.
It highlights emerging, indicative findings into what worked well and less well, focusing on the design, planning, delivery, structure and monitoring of the Towns Fund. It also looks at early effects on outcomes like pride in place, wellbeing, employment, physical connectivity, and the local economy. These findings are based on project data, third-party data, interviews and focus groups with over 50 stakeholders, and follow-up surveys in five case study areas.
The evaluation will contribute to a better understanding of what works and why, supporting the implementation of future local growth and regeneration initiatives.
