Timothy Vaux, Robert Vaux and Joan Vaux trading as RJ, JK and TJ Vaux has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is for a full licence to abstract water from the River Parrett at National Grid Reference ST 45838 15545 at South Petherton, Somerset.
The application is to abstract water as follows:
- 6,000 cubic metres a year (this quantity of water will be aggregated between this proposal and RJ, JK and TJ Vaux’s existing licence - 16/52/003/S/001)
- 48.87 cubic metres a day
- 3.48 cubic metres per hour
- between May and August inclusive in each year.
The water will be used for spray irrigation of Polo Pitches. The proposed abstraction point lies within the South and West Somerset Abstraction Licensing Strategy.
