It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the passing of our dear friend and colleague Tim Lyons, Whitchurch Lock and Weir Keeper, on Tuesday 9 May 2023.
Tim’s funeral will take place at 11am on Monday 12 June 2023.
Many of our lock and weir keepers will be attending the funeral. Locks where staff are attending the funeral will be available on public power self-service. Those who are not attending will be available to reset public power across multiple locks if required. However, there will be delays resetting public power if it trips as lock keepers will be covering more sites than they normally would. We thank you for your understanding and patience.
As a mark of respect at 11am, at the time of the service, we will put all 44 locks onto self-service for half an hour (excluding Teddington which cannot be put onto self-service but extra staffing will be available here). This will allow staff who are not attending the funeral some time to remember Tim and pay their respects.
We are sure that many of you knew Tim well and have fond memories of him and might also like to attend the funeral to pay your respects. With his family’s permission the funeral details are below.
