The Trustees of the Goulburn Settled Estates have applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application, in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is to vary licence serial number 28/39/IM/32/0004 to obstruct or impede the flow of the River Mole at Betchworth Weir at National Grid Reference TQ 20684 49423.
The variation applied for is to replace the two existing mini-hydropower turbines at Betchworth Weir with a single Archimedes Hydroscrew turbine.
