We received a request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA) for information regarding the testing of speed enforcement equipment. The following questions were asked:
‘Please provide full details of the testing of speed enforcement equipment prior to the granting of type approval.
Please include full details of how equipment is tested, and what vehicles it is tested on. With reference to tests carried out by the police, for example, are devices tested on police vehicles or random samples of passing traffic? How many measurements are taken, etc?’
