Details of the application

The Summer Berry Company UK has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 8 of The Water Abstraction (Transitional Provisions) Regulations 2017.

The Environment Agency has received the following abstraction licence application within the Arun and Western Streams catchment.

The application is for a full licence to abstract water as follows:

  • at an instantaneous rate of 22.3 litres per second
  • 80 cubic metres an hour
  • 960 cubic metres a day
  • 8,000 cubic metres a year
  • between 1 September and 30 November inclusive in each year
  • at National Grid Reference (NGR) SU 90078 03763
  • from abstraction location groundwater fed lagoon at Colworth, Chichester.

The water will be used for Trickle Irrigation - Storage.
