The Social Security (Electronic Communications) (Amendment) Directions 2016

The Secretary of State for Work and Pensions makes the following Directions in accordance with paragraph 2 of Schedule 9ZC to the Social Security (Claims and Payments) Regulations 1987[footnote 1].

Citation and commencement

1.–(1) These Directions may be cited as the Social Security (Electronic Communications) (Amendment) Directions 2016.

(2) These Directions come into force on 25 March 2016.

Amendment of the Social Security (Electronic Communications) Consolidation and Amendment Directions 2011

2.–(1) The Social Security (Electronic Communications) Consolidation and Amendment Directions 2011[footnote 2] are amended as follows.

(2) In paragraph 1(2) in the definition of “relevant benefit”, after paragraph (i) insert—

“(ia) State Pension under Part 1 of the Pensions Act 2014;”.

(3) In paragraph 2(a), after “Retirement Pension” insert “, State Pension under Part 1 of the Pensions Act 2014”.

(4) In paragraph 4, after “gov.uk website”[footnote 3] insert “(or, in the case of a State Pension under Part 1 of the Pensions Act 2014, set out on any other website if the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions notifies the person of that other website)”.

  1. S.I. 1987/1968. Schedule 9ZC was inserted by S.I. 2003/2800. S.I. 2015/1985 inserted a reference to state pension under Part 1 of the Pensions Act 2014 into Schedule 9ZC.

  3. The reference to the gov.uk website was inserted by the Social Security (Electronic Communications) (Amendment) Directions 2013
