The Royal Parks Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 8 of The Water Abstraction (Transitional Provisions) Regulations 2017.
The Environment Agency has received the following abstraction licence application within the London catchment.
The application is for a full licence to abstract water as follows:
- at an instantaneous rate of 9 litres per second
- 33 cubic metres an hour
- 951 cubic metres a day
- 168,378 cubic metres a year
- between 1 April and 31 March inclusive in each year
- at National Grid Reference TQ 19840 72700
- from abstraction location Pen Pond in Richmond Park, Richmond, London.
The water will be used for maintaining flow through three ponds and Spray irrigation.
