The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead has applied to the Environment Agency for 2 licences.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application, in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

We have received an application from The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead for a licence to obstruct or impede the flow of the Moor Cut at Green Lane, Maidenhead at National Grid Reference SU 89462 80672. The impounding structure comprises a new weir which will raise the water level for recreational and navigation purposes.

The main weir crest will be constructed in two parts with a spill level of 2.000m AOD. The weir will incorporate a fish pass on the right hand bank and a combined boat rollers and eel pass structure on the left hand bank.

An application is also being made to remove the impounding structure at Town Moor, Maidenhead at National Grid Reference SU 89189 81614 to enable navigation.
